Things you may want to know about Extractions
When do we recommend a tooth extraction?
We try to save all teeth that can be saved but recommend extraction only when either you don't want to save your tooth or it cannot be saved.
Are extractions painful?
No, extractions are not painful as the procedure is done under anesthesia. But in very few cases some may experience slight pain due to severe infection.
What precautions do we recommend after an extraction?
Bite on the gauze that we have placed for atleast 45 minutes and ideally for one hour.
Take your medicines as prescribed.
DO NOT SPIT, SWALLOW and SMOKE for atleast 24 hours after the extraction.
Avoid eating or drinking HOT food and beverages.
After 24 hours have passed, rinse your mouth with warm water 4-5 times a day to keep it clean.
